From surviving to thriving – life lessons from the therapy room. A psychotherapy and positive psychology informed journey towards resilience, acceptance, compassion, empathy and gratitude.
This course focuses on personal growth, including things you might learn if you were to attend therapy over a period of time. It includes techniques and insights that can improve your life, as well as pointing out internal patterns that sometimes cause us issues. This course is different to therapy because rather than you working with a therapist on your issues individually, in this course a therapist introduces you to ways of living better. You can explore these as much as is comfortable for you in a supportive group setting.
Life can leave us carrying old patterns, overwhelmed, disconnected with harsh self-criticism, or a sense that we have somehow lost touch with ourselves. Yet beneath the stress, the expectations and responsibilities, there remains something whole within us. Run over four months, this course offers a space to slow down, reflect and reconnect with the qualities that support emotional wellbeing and a meaningful life.
After decades of working as a psychotherapist, one truth has become clear. People flourish when they develop these qualities. The course aims to help you understand yourself, strengthen your emotional wellbeing and cultivate a more peaceful and fulfilling life.
In this course we explore:
- Resilience: Building inner resources and learning how to navigate life’s challenges.
- Acceptance: Finding peace with what is, rather than fighting against it.
- Compassion: Developing a kinder and more supportive relationship with yourself.
- Empathy: Deepening connection with ourselves and those around us.
- Gratitude: Reconnecting with meaning, appreciation and the simple joys of life.
Small changes, over time, can transform the direction of your life. This programme offers the space, support and guidance to begin that journey. Through psychotherapeutic and positive psychology teaching, mindfulness, reflection and practical exercises, you will be supported in developing the qualities that allow us not only to survive, but to live with greater peace, connection and fulfilment.
Over the six days, you will be guided through a practical and deeply reflective journey designed to:
- Understand yourself deeply
- Build emotional resilience
- Soften self-criticism
- Improve relationships
- Manage stress more effectively
- Reconnect with joy, meaning and gratitude
Change doesn’t happen overnight. Like all meaningful growth, it unfolds gradually. Small changes, given time and attention, can have profound effects on how we experience ourselves, our relationships and our lives.
Like the sun hidden behind the clouds, our true nature is always there. Sometimes we simply need the time and space to rediscover it.
In person course: Cost €1250
Notice: If you are interested in an education foundation in counselling and psychotherapy, our Certificate in Applied Counselling and Psychotherapeutic Studies course is designed for that. You can learn more about it here.
(What happens between the six sessions? Could be worth elaborating on so that people don’t just see it as a six-day lecture)
