Mindfulness has been known to increase a sense of slowing down, becoming present and peacefulness. Research shows that over time and with practice this becomes prevalent. This helps balance the stresses and anxieties that we feel in a stressful life. This creates a space that allows emotions to become manageable rather than overwhelming.
On this course you will learn how to be mindful in everyday life as well as how to maintain the benefits you get from this course. There will be opportunities to learn mindful movement, mindful breathing, mindful eating and also some yoga for anyone interested. There will be group discussion on how to use mindfulness, how to sit and how to focus the breath.
Mindfulness is a state of active, open attention on the present. When you’re mindful, you observe your thoughts and feelings from a distance, without judging. We focus on a practice of compassion based mindfulness.
